Introduce kids of all ages to the awesomeness of skateboarding through a safe, proven program.
What we provide
All the safety gear, skateboards and equipment along with fully trained and insured instructors that have undergone a LexisNexis background check. There are two options, we can do it all for FREE if the host provides a willing adult to be trained to facilitate what we call Level One of Get On Board, or we can run the whole thing based upon a sliding fee that ranges from $5 per student, $250 per day or $1000 per week for a residency program.
We currently have 14 Physical Education teachers trained and if you ask them they will give an honest answer that they felt proficient enough after just a few sessions of participation. On average we spend two full days with you and your students, you will progress from observing through participating and running a session yourself.
What the host provides
Willing students ready to go with closed toe shoes, their own safety gear if they would like, and a signed permission slip.
Our curriculum has been tested and proven for years with thousands of participants learning how to safely skateboard in a matter of minutes. We have options that range from 15 minute intros through a comprehensive multi session program at your place or ours.
- Physical Education classes – all ages with a focus moving towards residency programs with local schools.
- After school enrichment
- Parks & Recreation programming
- Summer Camps
- Add a fun twist to your event, we will show up with our booth that includes balance boards, a build-aboard activity where kids can build up a skateboard and all the gear to teach skateboarding.
We are currently training local Physical Education Teachers how to facilitate the program with the intent that once they are trained we will provide them with all the gear necessary through our loan program. This will allow teachers to run their own skateboarding module without having to make the investment in gear.
“I would highly recommend the Get On Board program for your school. The staff are wonderful with the students and adapt very well to each students needs. I loved watching the excitement and self-esteem of my students grow as they went from being very apprehesive to being confident in their ability to ride.” – Tamara McCormick, Physical Education Teacher, North Berwick Elementary School, North Berwick, Maine
“Rye Airfield and the Get on Board program provided a comprehensive learn to skate program for UNH’s Camp Wildcat. All of our campers (ages 6-12) had a blast with this 2-day session! We are continually looking for new programming ideas that satisfy a very diverse group of camper needs and this is one of the few programs that hit that mark.” – Brian Scott, Assistant Director, Sport Clubs, Campus Recreation Department, University of New Hampshire
